To mark the launch of MADE in Europe and Oxfam's Ultimate Campaign Toolkit, we are working with 10 young Muslims in an inspirational and exciting programme to take action against global poverty and injustice. They attended a 2 day training course on campaigning and then planned their own campaigns which they are running between July and September 2011. The Ultimate Campaigners' campaigns are based on either MADE in Europe's At Our Mothers' Feet campaign or Oxfam's GROW campaign. Campaigning is about ordinary people doing ordinary things but with extraordinary results! People in the UK have been part of movements which have led to the cancellation of Haiti’s debt and free healthcare for mothers and children in places like Seirra Leone and Malawi. We want to see more young Muslims helping to change the lives of people in some of the poorest parts of the world. |
