In 2012 MADE in Europe is running two volunteering projects to Bosnia & Herzegovina:
- In the one month programme volunteers will live and work with host families in rural farming communities, take part in day trips to various towns and cities and participate in the 3 day Mars Mira (Peace March). This programme also includes volunteering in the UK and developing skills to be able to campaign.
- The one week programme is centred around the Mars Mira (Peace March) and the Srebrenica Memorial Ceremony which commemorates the Srebrenica massacre.
Applications have now closed for both programmes so watch this space to find out more about what the volunteers get up to!
“A lot of people don't realise but the stuff you learn when you are away from home you can't compare. I would definitely recommend to any young Muslims out there to get out of your comfort zone, and just explore, that is what you need to do - make a difference.”
Dilwar Islam, 2011 Journey volunteer
